Alabama Continuing Legal Education Requirements

Reporting Method: Self-Reporting

Compliance Period: Annual

Reporting Process: Attorneys must self-report their CLE compliance through the Alabama State Bar MCLE system.

Compliance Deadline: December 31

Reporting Deadline: February 15

Total Credits Required: 12 credit hours annually

Specialty Credit Requirements: 1 hour of Ethics

Maximum Online Credits: 6 hours of on-demand CLE. At least 6 credit hours must be completed through live programs, including live webcasts or in-person courses. 

Carryover Credit: Up to 12 CLE credits, including up to 1 hour of Ethics credit, may be carried forward to the next reporting period. Up to 6 carried-over credits may be from on-demand courses.
