Compliance Period: Three-Year Cycle
Reporting Process: Attorneys must report their CLE compliance through The Florida Bar Member Portal. Reporting cycles are based on the attorney's assigned three-year reporting period.
Compliance Deadline: Assigned three-year reporting cycle end date.
Reporting Deadline: Assigned three-year reporting cycle end date.
Total Credits Required: 33 credit hours every three years.
Specialty Credit Requirements:
- 5 hours of Ethics, Professionalism, Substance Abuse, or Mental Health and Wellness
- At least 3 of the 5 specialty hours must be in Legal Ethics and Professionalism
- At least 1 of the remaining 2 specialty hours must be in Technology
- The remaining hour may be in Substance Abuse or Mental Health and Wellness, Technology, Legal Ethics and Professionalism, or approved Bias Elimination
Maximum Online Credits: 33 credit hours. All required CLE credits may be completed through approved online courses.
Carryover Credit: Up to 5 excess general CLE credits may be carried forward to the next reporting cycle. Specialty credits may not be carried forward to satisfy specialty credit requirements.
Record Retention: Attorneys should retain certificates of completion and supporting CLE documentation in accordance with The Florida Bar requirements.
