Compliance Period: Annual
Reporting Process: Attorneys must report their CLE compliance through the Iowa Supreme Court Commission on Continuing Legal Education's online reporting system.
Compliance Deadline: December 31
Reporting Deadline: March 1 following the compliance year.
Total Credits Required: 15 credit hours annually.
Specialty Credit Requirements: 1 hour of Ethics.
Maximum Online Credits: 6 credit hours may be completed through on-demand, non-participatory courses. At least 9 credit hours must be completed through live, interactive programs, including approved live webcasts.
Carryover Credit: Up to 10 excess CLE credits, including up to 1 hour of Ethics credit, may be carried forward to the next reporting period.
Record Retention: Attorneys should retain certificates of completion and supporting CLE documentation in accordance with Iowa Supreme Court Commission on Continuing Legal Education requirements.
