Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Requirements

Reporting Method: Self-Reporting

Compliance Period: Annual

Reporting Process: Attorneys must report their MCLE compliance through the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board's online reporting system.

Compliance Deadline: Compliance is based on the attorney's assigned compliance group and is due by April 30 of the attorney's reporting year.

Reporting Deadline: April 30 of the attorney's reporting year.

Total Credits Required: 12 credit hours annually.

Specialty Credit Requirements: 2 hours of Ethics, Professionalism, or Substance Abuse.

Maximum Online Credits: 6 credit hours may be completed through approved distance learning. At least 6 credit hours must be completed through live, in-person, or approved live interactive programs.

Carryover Credit: Up to 12 general CLE credits and up to 2 Ethics credits may be carried forward to the next compliance period.

Record Retention: Attorneys should retain certificates of completion and supporting CLE documentation in accordance with Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board requirements.
