Reporting Method: Self-Reporting

Compliance Period: Annual

Reporting Process: Attorneys must certify their MCLE compliance through the Virginia State Bar's online MCLE reporting system.

Compliance Deadline: October 31

Reporting Deadline: December 15

Total Credits Required: 12 credit hours annually.

Specialty Credit Requirements: 2 hours of Ethics and Professionalism.

Maximum Online Credits: 8 credit hours may be completed through approved online, on-demand, or distance-learning courses.

Carryover Credit: Up to 12 general CLE credits and up to 2 Ethics and Professionalism credits may be carried forward to the next reporting period.

Record Retention: Attorneys should retain certificates of completion and supporting CLE documentation in accordance with Virginia State Bar requirements.
