Nevada Continuing Legal Education Requirement

Reporting Method: Self-Reporting

Compliance Period: Annual

Reporting Process: Attorneys must certify their MCLE compliance through the State Bar of Nevada's online MCLE reporting system. 

Compliance Deadline: December 31

Reporting Deadline: February 15

Total Credits Required: 13 credit hours annually.

Specialty Credit Requirements:
  •  2 hours of Ethics 
  •  1 hour of Substance Abuse, Addictive Disorders, and/or Mental Health Issues that Impair Professional Competence 
Maximum Online Credits: 13 credit hours. All required CLE credits may be completed through approved online courses. 

Carryover Credit: Up to 20 general CLE credits, 4 Ethics credits, and 2 Substance Abuse/Mental Health credits may be carried forward to the next two reporting periods. Excess Ethics and Substance Abuse/Mental Health credits may be applied toward general CLE requirements but may not satisfy the specific specialty credit requirements. 

Record Retention: Attorneys should retain certificates of completion and supporting CLE documentation in accordance with State Bar of Nevada requirements.
